Church of Saint Mary
It is one of the most beautiful examples of the late Basque gotic and was built in the 15th century over an older Roman temple of the 13th century.
The building of three naves is finished off with an ambulatory. The set of butresses strongly draw one´s attention, and are set off with beautiful decorated pinnacles.
Standing our inside this temple with the category of basilica, are in chapels, the ornamented triforium going round it, and the marvellous gothic- Flemish reredos, the polycromy of master Juan García de Crisal. Its carving was probably finished around 1516 after five year´work. This polycromatic gold plated reredos is considered the third largest of this style in the State, after those of Seville and Toledo.
