Chapel of Saint Catalina

It is located on the privileged beauty spot of Cape Antzoriz or Santa Catalina, next to the lighthouse. It is one of the oldest chapels in Lekeitio. Although its origins is unknown, the 13th century stone carving of Christ belonging to this chapel and preserved in the Bilbao Ethnographic Museum gives us a clue as to its age.

The current gothic style building dates back to around 1500 and annexed to it a living which in the past was destinated to the female friars or sisters responsible for chapel maintenance.
