Uriarte Palace

This beautiful baroque palace was built in 1677 by the architect Lucas Longa. The building envelops an ancient medieval tower undoubtedly erected years earlier by one of the partisan families introduced whithin the urban enclosure.

The main palace façade reached via a wide staircase has a beautiful porch supported by a triple arch. The building bears and impressive coat of arms centred on the last floor. Uriarte palace was once the residence of the aristocrat Pedro Bernardo Villarreal de Berriz, an erudite intellectual and great renovator of hydraulic engineering techniques in the 18th century.
