Arranegi street

Arranegi street has an urban peculiarity whereby the entire length of it has both a lot of 16th and 17th century palaces with coats of arms and simple fishermen´ houses. In the so- called Plazuela de Arranegi, widening of this street where traditionally fish has been sold, we can see a beautiful example of baroque mansion, known as “Upa etxea”. It was built in 1604.

In this very same place there is a small public fountain whose idiosyncrasy is that of being an 18th century christening font.
